The Clarita Negra Recording Guitar - Nylon String.
The Clarita is my own design. I have incorporated everything that I
have learned about woods, craftmanship and acoustics in order to produce
the finest classical guitar for the recording artist. Take a look at
some of the unusual things about the Clarita, such as the sound hole
on the side and the grain and coloration of that beautiful Brazilian
rosewood. Each peice of wood, whether it be the sound board or the brace
wood has been choosen by me for it's performance as well as it's aesthetic
beauty. I wanted my dream to be flawless from the inside-out. A look
inside it's chamber reveals both its hidden mathematic secrets as well
as its organic beauty.
Note: The Clarita Negra guitar pictured here has a slanted nut and
frets, which provide for ergonomic fingering when playing in the proper
classical position.. Also, the lower-pitched strings are lengthened
for better bass response. This is available as a custom option - the
standard model has the traditional straight nut and frets.

The ebony neck is unfinished for fast, smooth position changes
- no sticking thumbs! And no, it's not heavy - it's been hollowed in a way
that reduces weight, but still leaves plenty of strength.

The Clarita Negra Recording Guitar - Steel String. Hey, you
didn't think I would deny you a chance to own a one-of-a-kind Boaz Clarita
Negra guitar just because you're a steel string player, did you?
But look closely at the picture: see anything unusual? No, I don't
mean the body shape ... what I'm talking about is this: where are the
frets? Is this a fretless guitar? No - but the frets are made of a black,
non-metallic composite. Here's why:
-
Extremely quiet attack between fret and
strings. "I guess we don't want noise in the recording studio ..."
-
Extends string life
-
You won't believe this, but it also
extends fret life (trust me; or better yet, buy one and see for
yourself!)
-
"Normal" frets are ugly! Hey, and if you don't agree with me, what
are you doing here? Get off my web page! Just kidding - but if you
do prefer a more "traditional" style, why not take a look at my
concert classical and
flamenco guitars?
Note once again that the standard nut and frets on this Clarita Negra
is a custom option.

The Clarita Negra Bridge - Unusually thin, and designed for maximum
flexibility and strength where it's needed. Dr. Kasha
called it "the fish bone and the fish skin."

...And an access door for easy string changing, easy access for electronics
installation, and - god forbid! - repairs in the future. Don't want
some clunky barn door on your guitar? Hey, don't worry - I don't either.
The Clarita access door clicks in and out in a pretty magical way. Trust
me: you'll barely know it's there, and it is virtually invisible.

Negra - Perhaps the nicest love letter I have ever received from
the guitar community.
