Need to be fixed? No problem

I do high end repair work and specialized pieces. I have restored instruments for museums and am able to work on instruments shipped from all over the world. I welcome people from anywhere on the globe to send their instruments regardless of distance. I only work on acoustic intruments (violins, cellos etc.) and electric guitars that need body work (sorry, no electrical work done).

It is very difficult to estimate the price of repair work on the web page because I cannot see the instrument in question, so it will vary accordingly. (This is just an idea of how much it will cost to repair an instrument, exact cost will be given after I recieve the instrument and evaluate it).

  • Refretting $500 for standard fret material and size

  • Barrilium copper, bronze, or brass frets $1000

  • Delrin (non-metalic) frets for reducing noise and extending string life $1000

  • Buzz Feiten intonation (sorry we don't do normal intonation) $350

  • New finish $350

  • French finish $500

  • Violin Finish $500

  • Cracks - prices vary

  • Nut and bone replacement $35 each

  • Rebracing of Violin and Viola $500

  • Rebracing of cello $600

  • Rebracing of double bass $700

Occasionally I get an instrument that is completely broken, neck apart from the body, sides split - you name it I've seen it. In most cases, after the repair you cannot even tell it was ever damaged.
